The European Sleep and Research Society is an international scientific non-profit organization and promotes all aspects of sleep research. These include the publication of the
Journal of Sleep Research (JSR), the organization of scientific meetings, and the promotion of training and education, the dissemination of information, and the establishment of fellowships and awards.

BUSINESS MEETING OF THE ESRS

At the business meeting of the ESRS in Glasgow on Sept 11, 2008, a new
Board of Officers was elected. Claudio Bassetti was elected as President. Roberto Amici was reelected as Basic Vice-President and Patrick Lévy was elected as Clinical Vice-President. The current Assistant Secretary, Debra Skene, was reelected for another 2 year term. Dieter Riemann was elected as Treasurer and Philippe Peigneux as Secretary.
A new
Scientific Committee was also elected.
Lisbon (Portugal) was selected as the ESRS Congress site in 2010.
