Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP)

Surgical treatment for obstructive sleep apnea and snoring. This procedure is designed to open the airway behind the palate. The uvula, tonsils, and excess palatal tissue are removed. The incision is closed with sutures. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and usually requires a one or two day hospital stay.1
